Notes:

In this program
'Material' always means an aggregate mixture of pure 'Compounds', so compositions of all input materials always have to be defined. However, You can define a 'pure' material by giving only 1 'Component' to it.

The
type of a material (input/output) can be changed only while it is NOT used by any of the Operations.

Equipment used

On this sheet you can define the vessels and equipment occuring in this project. The different equipment types are used to assist selections in the operations modus.      --> Learn more about this modus!

Notes:

Current program version does not deal with various phase states present in the vessels, it counts only with the gross compound amounts. So it does not predict result of any type of phase changes or/and separations. You, the chemist should provide such data: which components are moving (or 'materials' - as group of compounds), how much of them and from where in which direction...

Help / how to

Getting started

Editing a flowchart by this program consists of 5 steps:

  1. Start a new document or load a previously saved one using the File Menu. -->
  2. Define / edit your in- and outlet materials and components in the Materials Menu. (Composition of all ingoing materials have to be defined!) -->
  3. Define the equipment used in your manufacturing (vessels, reactors, etc.). -->
  4. Descript the operational steps and conditions of your processes in the Operations Form. (which material and how much is going into which vessel, define transfers, reactions, e.t.c.) -->
  5. Let the program calculate the material flow (-->) and draw the flowsheet (-->). If the figure is O.K., you can copy and paste it into your Word document, or you can save the entire dataset to your computer in the File Menu.

If something is wrong with the generated flowsheet check the error console on the operations form or simply try revise the data you have gived in the forms.
